Founded in 1916 by the Chadwick Family, Patagonia Malt Co, formerly known as Maltexco holds a leading position in the agribusiness market in Latin America. The malt houses have been constructed with German technology and equipment.

Patagonia Malt Co. prepares its malts from certified European barley (Barke and Scarlett) grown in the central and south zones of Chile. These areas are noted for having climate conditions that are very similar to those found in northern Europe. The company has an agriculture department that monitors and supervises the whole barley crop cycle, from sowing to harvesting.
